In summary, there are only two third-party food delivery apps that take EBT/SNAP, and those are Instacart and Amazon.

Can I use my benefits at UberEats? Does DoorDash accept EBT? Does GrubHub Accept EBT/SNAP? Can I use SNAP benefits on Postmates? These questions and more will likely be answered in the future as Uber Eats, DoorDash and Postmates may all be converted to accept EBT and SNAP.

You can still get groceries from Instacart, Amazon Fresh, or Walmarts website and have them delivered directly to your home in as little as 30-40 minutes with your EBT/SNAP Benefits.

What If I Live In A State That Does Not Participate In The Restaurant Meals Program

You can contact your state elected official if you would like to have the Restaurant Meals Program broth to your state.

To contact your federal, state, or local elected officials, you will need to visit the How To Contact Your Elected Officials webpage on USA.gov.

Next, choose an elected official to contact. In this example, I will choose a U.S. representative from Texas since there is no Restaurant Meals Program in my state. Click the U.S. Representatives link to be taken to the next page.

From here select the letter of the state you live in. Since Im in Texas I selected the letter T. Doing this presented me with the list of U.S. representatives in Texas. Once you find the U.S. representative in your area you can call them to voice your opinion about bringing the Restaurant Meals Program to your state.

Shopping For Groceries Online

SNAP recipients can order groceries and other SNAP-eligible products online and have it delivered to their homes. In 2019 the USDA launched a federal pilot program allowing states to add EBT cards as an online payment option.

Participating retailors vary by state but the USDA Food and Nutrition service has a state directory where you can check which ones are available in your state. Some of the retailors included are ALDI, Amazon, HyVee, Publix, ShopRite, Safeway and Walmart.

Does Postmates Accept Ebt/snap

Unfortunately no, Postmates doesnt accept EBT/SNAP currently this is because they pretty much only have restaurants on their service and all their food is pre-prepared and thus EBT/SNAP will not pay for it.

While we find those rules quite silly, as in some cases restaurants arent more expensive than cooking food at home especially if you have to rent a place with a kitchen as a result, those are the rules and theres not really getting around them.

What Is Ebt And How Does It Work

Participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program used to receive their food stamps or physical certificates in the mail.

Food stamp claimants today receive their monthly benefits using an EBT card.

In all 50 US states, including Guam, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, the EBT card functions like a standard debit card. As long as there is sufficient funds in the account to support the purchase, it can be used to purchase food.

Food Delivery Apps That Dont Accept Ebt Cards

You will find food delivery apps that provide restaurant-made meals are not able to accept EBT cards.

Only retailers that provide uncooked food items can accept payment via SNAP benefits.

Food delivery apps like GrubHub, Uber Eats, Postmates, and DoorDash cannot take payment through EBT cards.

However, certain states allow hot meals and restaurant-prepared foods to be delivered and paid for via EBT cards.
