Even if you are already meeting these requirements, CareerSource will still contact you so your hours can be tracked. Work requirements for an ABAWD to continue receiving food assistance benefits are:

• Working or volunteering 80 hours per month
• Participating 80 hours per month in a LWDB work program
• Completing a combination of these activities that averages to 80 hours per month

You must inform your CareerSource worker of your hours. Failure to contact CareerSource will result in benefits ending. If you are already meeting the work requirements and you receive a notice to complete orientation, contact DCF and ask the eligibility specialist to review your referral information.

How Long Can I Receive Calfresh Benefits

There is no time limit for how long eligible individuals and families can receive assistance.

However, in order to continue to receive benefits, CalFresh recipients are required to fill out semi-annual reports and annual recertifications.

Yes. Once a decision has been made on your CalFresh application, you will be notified of the decision by mail.

Each year, the USDA is responsible for setting the Income Eligibility Standards for SNAP. These standards are then used to perform an income test on all households that apply for food stamp benefits.

The income test is required for all households, unless your household is already receiving cash assistance benefits from the federal government or your state.

Most households must have a total gross monthly income less than or equal to 200% of the federal poverty level , to be potentially eligible for CalFresh.

Do I Qualify For Snap

To qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, applicants must meet certain non-financial and financial requirements.
