How Much Will You Get In Extra Food Stamps Benefits

According to the USDA, The extra food stamps you will receive are the difference between the SNAP households maximum benefit for the household size.

However, all households receive extra food stamps of at least $95.

Also, those households currently receiving $95 or more will continue to receive thatsame amount. There will be no change in extra benefits for these households.

Additionally, those households receiving the maximum base SNAP benefit for their household size at the current temporary level of 115 percent will receive extra benefits of $95 per month.

Lastly, those households with a calculated extra food stamps benefit amount less than $95 will receive extra benefits totaling $95 per month.

Can I Replace Food Lost In A Disaster

If you lose food purchased with your EBT card due to a power outage caused by weather, ice storm, fire, flood, tornado or other household misfortune outside your control, you may request a SNAP benefit replacement. To report a loss and begin the process of receiving replacement benefits, you must complete and submit an Online Replacement Request within 10 days of the event. When Do Benefits Expire

DTA benefits roll over month to month.

• Cash benefits not used for 90 days or more expire and are removed from your EBT card.
• SNAP benefits will not be removed from your card if you use your benefits any time within 274 days.
• If you don’t use any SNAP benefits for 274 days, benefits that are 274 days old or older will be removed from your EBT card.
• DTA will send you a notice 30 days before any benefits may be expunged from your card.

How Long Will I Get Help

You can get SNAP benefits for as long as you are eligible for help. You will be required to complete a mid-certification and a recertification – each year you get SNAP to make sure your household is still eligible. If you do not return your information by the deadline on the form, you may lose your benefits.

• Your mid-certification will happen halfway through your benefit period. We will send you a form in the mail that must be completely filled out, signed, and all pages returned to the Family Support Division by the deadline so you do not lose your benefits. You must complete this form even if you do not have any changes.
• Around the end of your SNAP benefit period, you will get a recertification packet in the mail. You will need to complete this, return it to the Family Support Division, and complete an interview to continue getting SNAP benefits.

NOTE: It is important that you report any changes to your contact information, including your address, so you will get these important letters in the mail. If you do not respond to mail from the FSD, you could lose your benefit.

During the COVID-19 emergency, there are new rules for the SNAP program which will allow more college students to get benefits.

• If your âexpected family contributionâ is $0, and you meet other SNAP eligibility requirements, you are eligible for SNAP.
