Can I Receive Snap Benefits
You must file an application to determine if you can receive SNAP benefits. However, if you meet any one of the following conditions, you are NOT eligible to receive SNAP benefits: ineligible non-citizens, ineligible students, individuals disqualified for noncompliance with work requirements, individuals disqualified due to an intentional program violation, and individuals who were convicted of a drug related felony after August 22, 1996. For a full listing of ineligible or disqualified individuals, or if you have a question regarding your SNAP eligibility or participation please contact any DSS county office.
Who Can Be Included In My Snap Case
- A SNAP household may consist of an individual or a group of individuals who purchase food and prepare meals together.
- Each eligible SNAP household member must be a United States citizen or meet non-citizen requirements.
- A non-citizen is required to provide their United States Citizenship and Immigration Services documentation and the Agency must verify the validity of the provided documents through the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program. The SAVE Program is a service that helps federal, state, and local benefit-issuing agencies, institutions, and licensing agencies determine the immigration status of benefit applicants so only those entitled to benefits receive them.
How Long Will I Get Help
You can get SNAP benefits for as long as you are eligible for help. You will be required to complete a mid-certification and a recertification each year you get SNAP to make sure your household is still eligible. If you do not return your information by the deadline on the form, you may lose your benefits.
- Your mid-certification will happen halfway through your benefit period. You will get a form in the mail that you will need to complete and return to the Family Support Division.
- Around the end of your SNAP benefit period, you will get a recertification form in the mail. You will need to complete this form, return it to the Family Support Division, and complete an interview to continue getting SNAP benefits.
NOTE: It is important that you report any changes to your contact information, including your address, so you will get these important letters in the mail. If you do not respond to mail from the FSD, you could lose your benefit.

So Can I Get My Ebt Card Number Online
The short answer is no. Even if you log into your EBT account for your respective state, you usually dont have access to your full EBT card number. However, you can view your case number. If you think about it, tracking down your card number is akin to looking up your debit card or credit card numbers online. For safety and security reasons, its best not to have an internet cache wherein your private information is exposed.
Not to mention, you still need a physical copy of your card in order to make in-store purchases. Granted, you can buy food online i.e. on Amazon, Walmart and others, but you must have a copy of your EBT card in order to punch in the number. If you could simply make purchases without your card, then it would be exponentially easier for people to steal that information from you.
That being said, if youre seeking online access to your EBT card number because your physical card was lost or stolen, there is a way to remedy that.

Just as you have to certify your income, resources and household information when you first complete the food stamps application process, you will need to recertify this information periodically in order to verify that you are still eligible for benefits. As a senior, you may not need to complete a food stamps renewal application as frequently as younger applicants do because you are not subject to SNAP work requirements.
