All Michigan Households Eligible For Food Assistance Benefits Will Receive An Extra Payment In June

LANSING, MI All Michigan families eligible for food assistance benefits will receive an additional payment in June due to COVID-19. Nearly 700,000 Michigan households will benefit from this approval.

As we continue to return to normal, its important to note that there are still many people who are struggling due to the global pandemic, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Elizabeth Hertel said. MDHHS believes it is critically important to help people feed their families.

According to the MDHHS, all households will receive an increase of at least $95 monthly, even if they are already receiving the maximum payment amount.

Eligible clients will see these additional food assistance benefits on their Bridge Card from June 12-22.

Below are the maximum allowable benefits for SNAP customers based on their respective household size:

Approved When And How Do I Get The Food Assistance Benefits

Michigan Food Assistance Program provides the SNAP benefits via the Electronic Benefits Transfer system. The monetary benefits of the Michigan SNAP are transferred to the accounts of qualified beneficiaries and are accessible through the Michigan EBT card, also called the Bridge Card.

Benefits are made available from the 3rd to the 21st of every month, based on the last digit of the recipients ID #:

Michigan Residents Receiving Food Assistance To Get Additional Assistance In November

All Michigan families who are eligible for food assistance will receive an additional monthly payment in November, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Monday.

The move is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to make groceries more affordable during the holiday season.

Eligible recipients will see additional food assistance benefits on their Bridge Card form Nov. 13-23. The benefits will be loaded on the card as a separate payment from the assistance that was already provided earlier in November.
