Updates And Announcements Childcare P
New Mexico received federal approval to issue Pandemic EBT benefits for the 2021-2022 school year and Summer 2022 to families of children ages 0 through 5 who were receiving SNAP benefits from August 2021 through July 2022. Each month that the child age 0 through 5 were on SNAP, will be looked at to determine eligibility for Childcare P-EBT. Benefits will be issued in multiple payments beginning October 26, 2022. See School Year 2021-2022 Childcare P-EBT link below or the FAQ for dates of issuance. The issuance will be based on eligibility.
The amount each month the child will be eligible for if under the age 6 and on SNAP will be:
- for months from August 2021 through December 2021 $34.31 per month
- for months from January 2022 through May 2022 $34.13 per month

My Child Is Eligible But Hasn’t Received Benefits What Can I Do
A review of your benefits can be requested between Aug. 15 and Oct. 14. To request a review, call the P-EBT Call Center at 833-442-1255, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central time.
After your request is submitted, HHS will review the benefit decision and contact your child’s school for more information. The review process can take two to five weeks to complete.
If the review determines that your child was eligible for more school year P-EBT benefits than they received, those benefits will be issued to your Lone Star Card or P-EBT Card.
Requests for review of a benefit decision can only be submitted once per household, and all review decisions are final.
Food Stamp Income Requirements
The SNAP program has eligibility standards for both gross and net monthly income. Most people will need to fit within both the gross and net income guidelines in order to be eligible. Exceptions to this include the elderly. For households including at least one person over the age of 60, only the net income standard is applied. Another exception is those receiving TANF and SSI.
The table below shows the maximum gross and net monthly income based on family size for SNAP eligibility. The gross income is the income you make prior to any deductions. Net income is after deductions. The only exceptions to the chart below are Alaska and Hawaii, which have higher income limits due to the significant increase in cost of living.

The 2002 Farm Bill restores SNAP eligibility to most legal immigrants that:
- Have lived in the country for 5 years or
- Are receiving disability-related assistance or benefits or
- Have children under 18
Certain non-citizens, such as those admitted for humanitarian reasons and those admitted for permanent residence, may also be eligible for SNAP. Eligible household members can get SNAP benefits even if there are other members of the household that are not eligible.

Heres how to check the balance on your Texas EBT Card Balance.
Option 1 Check your Last Receipt
The first option for checking your Texas EBT Card balance is to check your last receipt. This is the easiest and quickest way to locate the current balance on your Florida EBT Card.
Your balance will be listed at the bottom of your most recent grocery store or an ATM receipt. You should get in the habit of keeping your most current EBT receipt, that way, you always have a quick way to check your balance before you shop.
Option 2 Check at the Store
The second option for checking your Texas Lone Star card balance is to check your balance at the store before buying anything, if the store allows you to do so. The best way to do this is to approach the store clerk and tell them you want to check your card balance so you are sure how much money you have to spend.
Option 3 Check by Phone
The last option for checking your Texas EBT Card balance is by phone. Call the EBT Customer Service number on the back of your card. The Customer Service Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

DSS and SCDE have informed school districts that there will be a P-EBT for this summer. This first payment will come out in late August for students who were approved for free or reduced meals or attended a CEP school at the end of the 2021-22 school year. These payments will not be impacted by virtual or in-person school.
The second payment will be issued in October and will cover all students who are approved for free or reduced meals.

P-EBT benefits for school year 20212022 vary for each child because benefits are based on the number of days a child did not receive free or reduced-price meals due to COVID-related absences, virtual attendance, or days that schools were closed due to COVID-19. The daily benefit amount of $7.10 will be issued for each day a child is eligible for P-EBT. For example, if a child was absent for seven days because they stayed home after testing positive for COVID-19 and a school closed due to COVID-19 for three days, they would receive a P-EBT benefit of $71.00 .

National School Lunch Program Eligibility

Children can be eligible for NSLP in different ways. They are eligible if they have one of the following:
