What Happens After I’m Approved

Once you are approved for SNAP, you will get your Electronic Benefit Transfer card in the mail. Your monthly benefit will be loaded on this card. You can check the Monthly EBT benefit schedule to see what day your benefit will be loaded to your card every month. What is CSFP?

CSFP is a federal nutrition assistance program that provides low-income, elderly individuals with a monthly box of food. The box does not contain a complete diet, but provides nutrients typically lacking in the diets of the elderly population. It includes a variety of foods, such as cheese nonfat dry and ultra-high-temperature milk, juice, oats and ready-to-eat cereal, rice and pasta, peanut butter, dry beans or peas, canned fruits and vegetables, and canned meat, poultry or fish. All of Ohio’s 88 counties participate in CSFP.

Who is eligible for CSFP?

If you are age 60 or older, if you live in one of the participating CSFP counties, and if your total household gross income is at or below 130 percent of theof the federal poverty guidelines, you may apply for CSFP.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program helps low-income households in Colorado purchase food. It provides a monthly benefit that helps families and individuals buy the food they need for good health.

If you apply by mail, mail in your application form right away! If you go in person to DTA, you can sign an application the very day you walk in. If you apply online, before 5 PM, your application is filed the same day.

You will get SNAP back to the date you turn in the signed application form. Even if you cannot fill in all of the blanks, at least:

• put down your phone number ,
• sign and date the form,
• turn it in.

You can give the rest of the information later. The DTA office cannot make you come back another day to file your application.
