General Ebt Card Information

In response to coronavirus , effective April 20, DHS began offering the service of mailing new and replacement EBT cards to customers. Cards are mailed to the customer’s address on record with DHS by Fidelity Information Services – the District’s EBT card distribution company. Customers may expect to receive their EBT card within five to seven days and are not required to visit the EBT Office to receive their card.

Customers without a fixed mailing address may pick up their EBT card at one of the following EBT Card Distribution Centers:

Renewal Requirements Are Being Reinstated

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service waiver to extend certification periods is ending. Nutrition Assistance and Cash Assistance recipients whose benefits are set to expire on or after May 31, 2021, will need to renew their benefits in order to continue receiving assistance, if they have already received a six-month extension since November 2020. Affected households will receive a notice with instructions on how to complete the renewal process.

Requesting A Replacement Ebt Card

Customers should keep their EBT cards secure at all times to ensure it does not get damaged or lost. Replacement EBT card may be requested by calling 888-304-9167. In addition, SNAP and TANF customers may visit one of our EBT Card Distribution Centers, listed above, to request a replacement card in-person.

Protecting Your EBT Benefits & Authorized Use

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits can only be used to purchase food at grocery stores or other authorized retailers or online at Amazon.com. To use SNAP benefits on Amazon, visit , and follow the instructions on the screen.
  • EBT cards may be used at grocery stores and any authorized retailer.
  • If you have cash assistance benefits, you may use those like cash. Cash benefits may be withdrawn from an Automatic Teller Machine using an EBT card. Two ATM withdrawals per month are permitted at no charge. Additional ATM withdrawal transactions are 85 cents per transaction.

Work Program Participation Is Suspended

Tennessee Food Stamps Eligibility

Following federal guidance, work program participation for Nutrition and Cash Assistance recipients is temporarily suspended while the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect employment opportunities. The DES website is not the main source of information for Tribal TANF work requirements. Tribal TANF work requirements have been suspended, please contact your Tribal TANF program for more information.

    You Can Apply For Many Of Our Services Online

    PLEASE NOTE: DHS has implemented COVID-19 precautions for all visitors entering office lobbies across the state. These rules will impact customers coming into state offices for scheduled in-person appointments.

    Guidelines include:

    • Arriving alone to drop-off or pick-up documents or take part in scheduled in-person appointments.
    • Answering COVID-19 health screening questions.
    • Maintaining a distance of 6 feet from others.
    • Not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

    Some interview requirements have been temporarily waived for individuals receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families benefits. Customers filing initial applications and recertifications are not required to visit an office provided their identity has been verified and all other mandatory verifications have been completed.

    What Is The Purpose Of This Service

    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program , formerly known as the Food Stamp Program, provides financial assistance to eligible New Mexicans with low income and limited resources to purchase food products. SNAP benefits are simple to use to purchase qualifying food products at participating grocery stores.

    Activating Your Ebt Card

    You or an authorized representative may activate the card. An authorized representative is a person you choose to get your benefits for you. To designate an authorized representative, you must submit a written statement to a local DHS Service Center.

    To activate your card: call FIS at 304-9167.

    You must have the following information ready when calling FIS to activate an EBT card:

  • Date of Birth
  • Last four digits of your Social Security Number . If you do not have an SSN, or did not provide one at the time of the program application, you may use your zip code.
  • A pre-selected personal identification number
  • Keep your PIN secure and never share it with anyone. If you cannot remember your PIN or the number is compromised, call FIS at 888-304-9167 to select a new PIN.

    Snap Employment And Training Program

    OK SNAP Works is Oklahomas Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training Program.

    Individuals who receive SNAP benefits, are looking for a job, and do not receive cash assistance may be eligible to participate in free job training.     What Happens Once I Return My Application

    You will be asked to come in for an interview in about ten days. Your assigned worker will give you a list of things you need to provide. This information will tell your worker about you and your household so he or she can determine if you qualify for SNAP benefits. Bring as much of the requested information as you can to the interview. This will help us to help you faster.

    If, after your interview, you need to provide more information, your worker will make a list of things you need to do. Your worker will explain how much time you have to gather the information. If you need more time, or you cant get the information required, tell your worker as soon as possible.

    Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

    Requirements for people receiving food stamps reinstated ...

    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides monthly benefits that help eligible low-income households buy the food they need for good health. For most households, SNAP funds account for only a portion of their food budgets they must also use their own funds to buy enough food to last throughout the month. Eligible households can receive food assistance through regular SNAP or through the Louisiana Combined Application Project .

    Qualifying for Regular SNAP

    To get benefits through regular SNAP, households must meet certain tests, including resource and income tests.

    Households are not exempt from the resource limit if:

    • Any member is disqualified for Intentional Program Violation, or
    • The household is disqualified for failing to comply with work registration requirements.

    The following individuals are not exempt from the resource limit:

    • An ineligible alien,
    • An ineligible student,
    • An individual who is disqualified for failure to comply with work registration requirements,
    • An individual who is disqualified for failure to provide or apply for a social security number, and
    • An individual who is on strike.

    When Will I Know If I Can Get Snap Assistance

    You will be notified by letter within 30 days as to whether or not your SNAP assistance was approved. If you do not agree with the decision, you can ask for a Fair Hearing. Remember, our job is to serve you. It is our policy to ensure that everyone who applies for and qualifies for SNAP assistance receives those benefits in a timely manner and in accordance with the law.
