- WalMart is something of a pioneer of EBT online payments, having started their service in 2017. WalMart accepts EBT payment online in 44 states. In a few other states, you can still place online orders if you plan to use EBT, but you will have to process your payment on-site.
- Kroger accepts EBT payment when you pick up online orders in Washington, DC and the 47 states where EBT payments can be used for ordering food online. This includes supermarkets owned by Kroger Co., like Dillons, Ralphs, Pick n Save, and Food 4 Less.
- Instacartis a popular personal shopping service for groceries, which became very popular during the Coronavirus pandemic. While Instacart is not itself a grocery store, they can accept EBT payment for some participating supermarkets through their online platform. Be sure to note that tips and other fees must be paid via credit or debit card. If you shop at popular supermarkets like Aldi, Publix, Hannaford, Piggly Wiggly, or Food Lion, you may be able to order groceries for delivery online with EBT. Please note that EBT payment is not accepted by Amazon if you live in Alaska, Hawaii, Louisiana or Montana. You might be surprised to learn that Whole Foods, a subsidiary of Amazon, does not allow online ordering with EBT.
How To Buy Walmart Groceries Online With California Ebt Card
Currently, Walmart only offers online grocery purchases with EBT for curbside pick-up and not for delivery. Delivery options will be added soon.
If you have a CalFresh EBT Card, you will now be able to use your cards to buy groceries and select curbside pick-up.
You can only use your EBT card to buy eligible grocery items and you cannot use your food stamps dollars to pay for delivery.
Step 1 Go to the Walmart Grocery website
The first step to purchasing groceries online at Walmart is to go to the Walmart Grocery website at www.grocery.walmart.com.
Step 2 Find Walmart Store Near You
Next, enter your zip code to find the Walmart store location near you. This is the location you will pick-up your online grocery order from.
Step 3 Shop for Groceries Online
Once you have selected your Walmart location, begin shopping for grocery items online by adding EBT eligible items to your shopping cart.
You will be asked to sign in to your Walmart Account or Create an Account once you place an item in your shopping cart.
Step 4 Checkout and Choose Delivery Option
Once you sign into Walmart, you can continue shopping until you have selected all the grocery items you want.
Next, click the Check out button. There is a $30 minimum for Walmart online grocery shopping. You will not be able to proceed to checkout until you reach this limit.
Once you hit the check out button, you will be taken to a page where you can Reserve a time for pickup.
Step 5 Checkout with your EBT Card

Walmart Alternative Payment Methods
If you do not have enough money in your EBT account or if you want to purchase things that are not eligible for EBT at Walmart, you will need to have an alternate payment option on hand in order to complete the transaction. Walmart accepts a number of different forms of payment, including the following:

What To Do If Youve Lost Your Ebt Card
In the unfortunate event that you have lost your EBT, the first thing you will need to do is report it.
This will start the process of getting yourself a new EBT card.
To report your card lost, stolen, or damaged, you will need to call 1-888-328-6399.
This number is the toll-free customer service number.
It is also possible to report a lost card by going to an EBT Help Desk or the local food stamp office.
The lost card will need to be deactivated and a new card will need to be drawn from the inventory.
The new card will need to be set up with your information as well as with your desired PIN.
The cards information must also be added to the systems database and linked to your account.
Following this, the card will be delivered to you.
You can expect your new EBT card to be delivered between two and five business days.
Once you have received your card, you will need to call customer service once again to finalize the setup of your card by requesting they activate it.

Where You Can Order Groceries Online With An Ebt Card
With more Americans claiming food assistance amid the pandemic, more states and stores are letting consumers use their benefits when ordering groceries online for pickup or delivery.
Participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as SNAP, can pay in store at most major grocery chains including “specialty” grocery stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s using electronic benefits transfer cards. But until last year, EBT wasn’t a widely available payment option online. Now, thanks to the continued expansion of an online purchasing pilot program run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service, households receiving SNAP benefits in 47 states and the District of Columbia can use EBT to pay for grocery pickup and/or delivery from a number of retailers .
The list of participating states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Alaska, Louisiana, and Montana are the only states that have not enrolled in the pilot.

Request A Replacement Card
If your card is lost, stolen or damaged call EBT Customer Service at 997-2555 right away.
You can also request a replacement EBT card via the mail by using:
- DTAConnect.com or the DTA Connect mobile app. Under ‘My Info’, click on Request an EBT Card. You can also track the card in the mail on DTA Connect.
- Automated prompts on the DTA Assistance Line 382-2363.
You can also visit one of our local offices to receive an EBT card if you need one more quickly. If you cannot visit an office, talk to our staff about otheroptions.
When you request a new EBT card, it deactivates your old card. DTA cannot reactive an EBT card.
The PIN for your replacement card does not have to be the same as your old one but it will be the same unless you tell us you want a new PIN assigned to you. If you request a new PIN, it will be sent in the mail in a separate envelope from your replacement card. Your replacement card and PIN will arrive within 5-10 business days.
We can replace your card, but cannot replace any benefits taken from it. If benefits were left on your old card they will automatically transfer to your new replacement card.
Expect a fee.
It costs $5 to replace an EBT card. The $5 fee will be taken from your benefits. If you have no benefits available, DTA will take the fee from you later. There’s no $5 fee if:

- Order and Choose a Pickup Time: Customers can visit walmart.com/grocery, select a time to pick up their order and begin creating their shopping lists. During checkout, they simply select EBT card for the payment option.
How To Order Groceries From Amazon Fresh
For my recipe, I chose Amazon Fresh products. I chose to make a meal that is budget friendly, crowd pleasing, and hefty enough to feed up to 8 adults Spinach Lasagna Skillet
I chose it because of both the affordable ingredients , as well as calling for both fresh spinach , dairy and ground beef .
Amazon Fresh had all of these items available for my order.
Once I loaded up my cart, I scheduled the delivery window and I added a tip for the delivery driver and my order was on the way.
It arrived right on schedule, and in this casejust in time for dinner!

Ebt Online Purchasing Pilot Program
In 2017, the United States Department of Agriculture announced a pilot program for online EBT purchases. The program allows EBT Cardholders to purchase groceries online for delivery or pick-up.
When the USDA initially set up the pilot program, the following states were approved for the program:

New York state was the first to actually implement the program, starting in .
This was followed by Washington in January 2020.
In March 2020, the states of Alabama, Iowa, and Oregon launched their pilot programs.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, pressure has mounted on the USDA to expand the program to allow more states to implement the SNAP EBT shopping online program.
As a result, the USDA began approving more states for the program.

When Do Benefits Expire
DTA benefits roll over month to month.
- Cash benefits not used for 90 days or more expire and are removed from your EBT card.
- SNAP benefits will not be removed from your card if you use your benefits any time within 274 days.
- If you don’t use any SNAP benefits for 274 days, benefits that are 274 days old or older will be removed from your EBT card.
- DTA will send you a notice 30 days before any benefits may be expunged from your card.

How Do You Manage Refunds When There Are Multiple Payment Types Used To Pay For My Order
If youre not happy with any item, you may request a refund. If SNAP EBT is used as a payment type, well follow guidelines from the USDA on how to process SNAP eligible refunds. If your item to be refunded is SNAP eligible and you used SNAP to pay for your order, we will refund the payment back to SNAP. When all SNAP funds have been refunded, we will refund the remaining payment types used in the order. For non-SNAP eligible refunds, we will process refunds according to the EBT Cash and/or other payment card amounts you used to pay for your order.
What Can You Buy With Ebt Cards
You can buy the following grocery items with your EBT card:
- Fresh produce: fruits and vegetables that have not been processed. For example, broccoli, apples, tomatoes, peppers, berries, carrots, asparagus, and more.
- Meat and fish: Meat like pork, beef, lamb, and chicken. Fish like tuna and mackerels.
- Breads and cereals:wheat bread, white bread, baguettes, tortilla, and banana bread.
- Dairy products: milk, yogurts, butter, cheeses, and ice cream.
- Snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages: popcorn, pretzels, potato chips, iced tea, ginger beer, smoothies, lemonade, and more.
- Seeds and plants: you can buy seeds that grow food or buy plants with food-producing roots or plant bulbs, and bushes. For example, potatoes and squashes.

What Do I Do If I Lost My Georgia Ebt Card
If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, immediately call the Georgia EBT Card Customer Service phone number at 1-888-421-3281.
A replacement card will be mailed to you upon reporting that your card has been lost, stolen or damaged. Replacement cards will be received within 5-7 business days.
