Instacart, the popular grocery delivery service, began introducing new payment options for SNAP EBT beneficiaries in December. Participating retailers include Aldi, Food Lion, and Publix, along with some smaller chains. Instacart has pledged to expand the EBT online payment option to more states and retailers in the near future.
When ordering with EBT on Instacart, customers must use a credit or debit card for non-eligible costs, including delivery and service fees, taxes, tips, and bottle deposit fees in some states. Customers over 60 who may be new to online grocery shopping can take advantage of Instacart’s Senior Support Service, which offers help with everything from setting up an account to placing an order.
How To Activate Your Card
- Visit www.ebtEDGE.com and click cardholder portal OR call 888.328.2656 .
- Enter your 16-digit card number.
- You will use the date of birth and ZIP code for the child whose name is on the card to set the cards PIN.
- Enter 4 digits to create your PIN. This will activate your card. The PIN is what keeps your benefits safe.

Does Sams Club Take Ebt Online
Sams Club doesnt currently take EBT for online grocery delivery orders. You can only use your EBT card for in-store grocery purchases at Sams Club. Also, Sams isnt among the grocery chains participating in the federal pilot EBT program meant to enable SNAP recipients to purchase groceries online. Whether Sams Club will start accepting EBT cards for online purchases in the future remains to be seen.

All grocery stores, farmers markets and convenience stores must apply for a SNAP permit with the USDA FNS to accept EBT card payments.
