To access your EBT benefits, you need a PIN.
If you do not remember your PIN, you can select a new by completing the following instructions:
First, call 1-888-328-6399.
When prompted, select your preferred language from those offered for example, press 1 for English.
Next, youll be asked to enter the 19-digit number from the front of the card using your phones keypad.
After entering the card number, you will hear a series of options. Press 1 to create your PIN or if you have forgotten your previously selected PIN, ignore the prompt to enter your PIN number and press 2 to create a new PIN.
You will be asked to enter the last four digits of the cardholders Social Security Number.
The Cardholder is the person whose name is on the front of the card.
Be sure to enter only the last 4 digits of that persons Social Security Number.
After entering the cardholders Social Security Number, youll be asked to enter your zip code.
Finally, you will be asked to select your new 4-digit PIN.
Enter a 4-digit number using your phones keypad.
Memorize this number.

What Is New York Ebt
An EBT card is a plastic card that acts like a debit card that is used to distribute public assistance benefits.
The New York EBT Card also called the New York Benefit Identification card is used for the delivery of benefits such as food stamps and Cash Assistance.
Once you are approved for food stamps or one of the programs listed above, you will receive your benefits each month on a New York EBT Card.

How Do I Activate New York P
In order to use your childs P-EBT Food Benefit card, you must first call the EBT customer service hotline to select a Personal Identification Number or PIN.
- Using a touch-tone phone, dial 1-888-328-6399.
- When prompted, select your preferred language for example, press 1 for English.
- Next, enter the 19-digit number from the front of the card using your phones keypad.
- After entering the card number, you will hear a series of options. If you have not used the card before to access P-EBT food benefits, press 1 to create your PIN.

- Do NOT enter the last four digits of the childs Social Security Number. Instead, you must enter the two-digit month and two-digit day of the childs birthday . For example, if the childs birthday is July 4, enter 0704. *Be sure to enter the childs actual birthday and not the fake birthday printed on the front of the card.
- After entering the childs birthday information, youll be asked to enter your zip code.
- Finally, select your new 4-digit PIN by entering a 4-digit number using your phones keypad. You will be required to enter this PIN whenever you make a purchase using your P-EBT Food Benefit card.
Home Energy Assistance Program
The Home Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program that assists low income households in meeting the high costs of home heating.
HEAP opened on Friday, October 1, 2021 and is expected to close March 15, 2022.
The 2021-2022 Emergency HEAP season will open January 3, 2022.
HEAP Regular Arrears Supplement information
The American Rescue Plan Act addresses the continued impact of the COVID -19 Pandemic by helping eligible HEAP households pay past-due arrears for natural gas and or electric utility accounts. Payments are made directly to an eligible HEAP households utility company. Benefits are provided to eligible HEAP applicants on a first come first serve basis through September 30, 2022 or until funds are no longer available.

How Do I Maintain My Snap Eligibility
Once you are approved for NY SNAP benefits, a redetermination for continued participation in SNAP is conducted on a bi-annual basis.
Each food stamp household is scheduled for a recertification interview at the end of the initial 12 month certification period.
This interview is conducted to document changes in income, expenses, household composition, or any other change in circumstances that may affect SNAP eligibility or degree of need.
However, SNAP recipients with earned income, are scheduled for a recertification interview every 6 months.

When Will New York Issue P
Even though P-EBT benefits were approved by Congress for the 2020/2021 school year, states have to submit a plan to the USDA to be approved to operate their P-EBT program for the 2020/2021 school year.
New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and the Department of Education submitted a plan to the USDA and it was approved.
Therefore, New York can now start issuing P-EBT benefits for the 2020/2021 school year.
Heres the plan to issue benefits as announced by the OTDA:
Children eligible to receive P-EBT food benefits will receive their benefits for the 2020-21 school year in two payments:
- First Payment: June 2021 through the end of July 2021, covering the months of September 2020 March 2021.
