SNAP benefits will be put into your account once a month. The last number in your SNAP Eligibility Determination Group number tells what day you get your benefits.
You can find your EDG number on the TF0001 form we sent you saying that you can get SNAP benefits. If you can’t find it, call us at 800-777-7328.

You can’t use TANF to buy things such as alcoholic drinks, tobacco items, lottery tickets, adult entertainment, guns ammunition, bingo and illegal drugs.
Contact Your Case Manager
For security reasons, most agencies require clients to provide personal identifying information, such as a full name, Social Security number or client ID number, when making inquiries about any issues related to the individual’s case. Be prepared with this information when calling the case worker at your social services office.
It is important to note that you should never reveal your PIN to others if you’ve already created one, as your card could then be used without your consent. If this occurs, your food benefits will not be replaced.
How To Replace Texas Ebt Card
If you have a Texas Lone Star Card and it has been lost, stolen or the magnetic stripe on the back of the card no longer reads at a EBT terminal, then it is important that you report it right away. You need your Texas EBT card in order to access your benefits to purchase food at stores that accept food stamps. Failure to report it lost or stolen right away could cause a delay in accessing your benefits, or allow someone else who has your card to use your Texas food stamp benefits to purchase items for themselves.

Report EBT Card Lost or Stolen

Who Can Apply For Texas Snap
SNAP is a federal program that provides food assistance to approximately 1.4 million eligible low-income families and individuals in the state of Texas.
In order to be eligible for SNAP benefits in Texas, individuals/families cannot exceed a certain monthly income based on their family size.
Additionally, most people age 16 to 59 must meet work rules to get SNAP benefits.
Work rules mean a person must look for a job or be in an approved work program.
Also, if the person has a job, they cant quit without a good reason if they want to continue to receive SNAP benefits in Texas.
Furthermore, most adults age 18 to 49 with no children in the home can get SNAP for only 3 months in a 3-year period.
However, they can get SNAP benefits longer if the person works at least 20 hours a week or is in a job or training program.
Lastly, some adults might not have to work to get benefits, such as those who have a disability or are pregnant.

The first replacement card in a calendar year is free. You are charged $5 for each additional replacement card. When you or your EBT alternate cardholder requests 3 or more replacement EBT cards within a 12-month period, you will be issued a replacement card, but you may not be able to use it until you make contact to explain the reason for the replacement EBT card request.

Can Someone Else Get A Lone Star Card So They Can Buy Items For Me
If you need someone else to help you buy things, you should ask for a second card to give to someone you trust. The money that person spends on the second card will come out of your Lone Star Card account.
You are the only person who can use your card and PIN. The person with the second card is the only person who can use the second card and PIN.

State Of Texas Offering Up To $1200 In Food Benefits For Some Families With Children
$2.5 billion of federal funds has been dedicated to the Pandemic-EBT program.
BRYAN, Texas – Despite the effects of the pandemic easing up, this is the second round of funding for the Pandemic-EBT program. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission was approved to provide more than $2.5 billion to 3.7 million, eligible children.
This funding targets families with students who temporarily lost free or reduced school meals during the 2020-2021 school year.
All Brazos Valley school districts qualify for the program but eligibility depends on each family.
Children who meet one of the following criteria:
- Certified for free or reduced-price meals during the 2020-2021 school year
- Attends a school that offers free meals to all students
- Born after August 1, 2014, in a family that recieved SNAP benefits for a minimum of one month between October 2020 and June 2021.
That state is using school data to determine how much families will get based on how many students participated in online learning each month. Families could receive up to $1,200.
Last summer the P-EBT helped quite a few families get through the summer so its great that this benefit is happening once again but it is depending on the family going and entering that information on if they qualify and how much they qualify for, said Matthew LeBlanc Bryan ISD Executive Director of Communication and Public Affairs.
