Trying to buy an unapproved item will lead to your card being declined at the checkout. Repeatedly trying to buy unapproved items could even lead to your benefits getting suspended. Any unapproved items that youve bought with your EBT card will need to be paid for yourself.
If youre not sure whether an item is covered by EBT, ask a member of staff. You can always divide your shopping up into sections, and pay for certain items yourself.
Where Can I Use California P
P-EBT households can use their benefits at retailers that accept food stamps .
The P-EBT benefits can be used to purchase eligible foods on the food stamps list.
In California, Families can use P-EBT benefits to buy food at most grocery stores and farmers markets.

Request A Replacement Card
If your card is lost, stolen or damaged call EBT Customer Service at 997-2555 right away.
You can also request a replacement EBT card via the mail by using:
- DTAConnect.com or the DTA Connect mobile app. Under ‘My Info’, click on Request an EBT Card. You can also track the card in the mail on DTA Connect.

When Are Snap Food Benefits Put Into My Account
SNAP benefits will be put into your account once a month. The last number in your SNAP Eligibility Determination Group number tells what day you get your benefits.

The second option for checking your California EBT Card balance is online through the Advantage Card website.
To log in, visit the ebt.ca.gov sign in, then enter your card number.
