We plan to expand the number of states and retailers accepting online ebt payments on the instacart platform. Some markets also have this option for ordering groceries online. The food and nutrition service has rolled out the snap online purchasing pilot for 47 states. Click add next to the payment method you would like to add to your account. According to snap guidelines, you can only buy eligible food items using your benefits. Simply add the valid ebt card information at checkout on instacart. The services and fees associated with delivery are not eligible food stamp expenses, and instacart only accepts cash as payment. Which Grocery Stores On Instacart Accept Ebt
As I said, just because there is a grocery store in your area on Instacart, that doesnt mean it accepts EBT SNAP automatically.
Youll have to check to see if theyre able to accept EBT in your state, which you can do here.
The master list of grocers who do accept EBT SNAP are as follows:
- Ahold Delhaize USA
- Aldi
- Warehouse Market
- Woodmans Market
Again, most of these stores are limited in terms of what states allow customers to use EBT SNAP on purchases.
The grocery stores that do have the widest coverage are Aldi, Publix, and Food Lion, but even these options dont cover every single state, nor every location within an eligible state.
Does Publix Take Ebt For Cakes
Publix accepts EBT for cakes. Most bakery items like bread, cookies, cakes, and cupcakes are eligible for EBT. Some Publix stores may also take EBT for custom cake orders.
The law states that EBT cannot be used to purchase ready-to-eat or hot foods prepared on-site. This would include items at the bakery and deli.
Cakes are premade refrigerated items, so paying with an EBT card would not be an issue. However, a custom cake sits in a fine line. If you are purchasing a custom cake for a celebration, this may not be covered with EBT since it is made to order.
Therefore, you should contact your Publix store directly and ask if they would accept EBT payment for custom cake orders.
This will be on a case-by-case basis, depending on how custom cakes are coded at stores. Therefore, some variations may occur with the rules.

Instacart does support the use of EBT SNAP benefits in a limited number of states, at a limited selection of retailers in 2022. You have two options to receive groceries with Instacart delivery or curbside pickup. Select the option you prefer and start adding items to your shopping cart.
When youre done shopping, the next step is checkout. At checkout, select how much of your benefits you want to allocate to your order. The remaining balance should be paid with another payment method, such as a credit or debit card.

Can You Tip Instacart Drivers With An Ebt Card
You cannot tip your Instacart driver with an EBT card. Similar to Instacart delivery and service fees, tips cannot be paid using the SNAP/EBT benefits. You can tip the driver using the credit or debit card on your Instacart account or give cash at the time of delivery.
Be sure to add a secondary payment method to Instacart to tip your driver and pay for the Instacart delivery and service fees mentioned above. This payment method will also be needed if you purchase items that are not eligible for SNAP benefits.

Yes, you can make online purchases with more than one type of payment method, and you can use another payment method to pay for non-SNAP eligible items. Does Doordash Accept Ebt
If you want to have groceries delivered from Walmart, using DoorDash may be an option.
DoorDash delivers for Walmart in 46 states, and they do not charge higher than store prices. Walmart recommends not tipping drivers.

How To Add An Ebt Card To Your Instacart Account
You can pay using your EBT card at select Aldi stores. If you don’t see an option to pay with EBT, update to the latest version of the app. If you still don’t see it check back later to see if the program has expanded.
