DTA mail is not forwarded by the U.S. Post Office. If you move and DTA does not have your new address, DTA letters will likely get returned to DTA. However, if you left a forwarding address with the U.S. Post office, DTA should use that information to update your address and send a check-in notice to your new address.
When Do Changes Need To Be Reported
For Nutrition Assistance and Cash Assistance, you must report the change by the 10th calendar day of the month following the month the change occurred. For Medical Assistance, changes must be reported as soon as the future event becomes known. Unanticipated changes must be reported within 10 days of the date the change occurred.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program , commonly referred to as the Food Stamp program, provides monthly benefits to help low-income people defray the costs of groceries. How To Change The Address On An Ebt Account
When states approve someone for cash assistance or food stamps, benefits are deposited onto an Electronic Benefits Transfer card. The accountholder’s name and address are linked to the EBT card, just as with debit and credit cards.
Tip
If you have an EBT card and need to change the address linked to your account, you must do so in the manner permitted by your state’s social services agency.
The Electronic Benefits Transfer Card
Once approved for SNAP and/or TANF benefits, your re-loadable EBT card will be mailed to your mailing address on file and will look like this:
The card will be mailed in a plain, white envelope with a return address of Sioux Falls, SD. This card will be automatically reloaded with your benefit amount every month.
Your EBT card will no longer have an expiration date. If there is an expiration date on your card, the card will expire on the last day of the month/year that is shown. If there is no expiration date on the front of your EBT card, your EBT Card will only need replacement if lost, stolen, or damaged.

This is a household of one that receives Supplemental Security Income . These households may or may not have other sources of unearned income.
Bay State CAP households have one check-in. You must fill out a Recertification form at month 36.
You should report changes in your income or household circumstances to the Social Security Administration at 772-1213. SSA will tell DTA about your reported changes electronically.
You do not have to report any changes directly to DTA. If your expenses increase, you can tell DTA if you want to.
How Long Will I Get Help
You can get SNAP benefits for as long as you are eligible for help. You will be required to complete a mid-certification and a recertification each year you get SNAP to make sure your household is still eligible. If you do not return your information by the deadline on the form, you may lose your benefits.
- Your mid-certification will happen halfway through your benefit period. You will get a form in the mail that you will need to complete and return to the Family Support Division.
- Around the end of your SNAP benefit period, you will get a recertification form in the mail. You will need to complete this form, return it to the Family Support Division, and complete an interview to continue getting SNAP benefits.
NOTE: It is important that you report any changes to your contact information, including your address, so you will get these important letters in the mail. If you do not respond to mail from the FSD, you could lose your benefit.

If Calfresh Benefits Get Discontinued During Ict
If the household has its CalFresh benefits terminated for any reason during the ICT, it is potentially eligible for a restoration of aid. If, in the month following the discontinuance, the household either appears in or contacts the county welfare department in a new county of residence, the CWD must determine whether the household would benefit from having the case restored or by completing a new application, in the event the household is eligible for expedited service. If it is more advantageous to the household to have the case restored, the receiving county must provide any information needed by the sending county to complete the restoration, and the sending ounty is responsible for restoring the case. If the household is better served by completing a new application, the receiving county will notify the household and assist in the completion of the application.

There are three basic moving scenarios for CalFresh households: The household moves within the same county moves from one county to another county within California or moves from a California county to another state :
If only part of an existing CalFresh household moves, those who move can apply for CalFresh benefits at the new county office, even if those household members already received CalFresh benefits for the month provided the household tells the new CalFresh office that it already got CalFresh benefits. That said, a recipient cannot get CalFresh benefits twice for the same month, unless she was abused and has fled the home of the abuser or fled to a shelter for battered women and children.

What Happens After I’m Approved
Once you are approved for SNAP, you will get your Electronic Benefit Transfer card in the mail. Your monthly benefit will be loaded on this card. You can check the Monthly EBT benefit schedule to see what day your benefit will be loaded to your card every month. You will also be able to get help with employment and job training through the SKillUp Program at no cost to you.
Who Is Eligible Which Schools Qualify
Who is eligible for P-EBT?
A child is eligible for P-EBT for 2020-21 if:
- The child would be eligible for free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program and/or School Breakfast Program if schools were operating normally AND
- The child has not received free or reduced-price meals at the school because the school is closed or has been operating with reduced attendance or hours for at least 5 consecutive days in the current school year. Once the minimum 5 consecutive day threshold is met, children are eligible to receive P-EBT benefits for closures or reductions in hours due to COVID-19. This includes virtual and hybrid learning schedules.

Every SNAP household has a certification type based on the age and income types of its members. Your certification type tells you a few things about your case including:
- How long youll get benefits before we review your case for renewal
- When/if you need to check in and
- What information you need to report.

This is a SNAP household where all adult members are aged 60+ or have a verified disability. There may be children under 18 in the household. These households do not have any earnings from work.
EDSAP households have one check-in. You must fill out a Recertification form at month 36.
Other than the Recertification, you must report:
- if someone moves in or out or
- if a household member gets a job and starts earning wages.
You must report this change to us by the 10th day of the month following the month of the change.
Example: Edward, age 65, starts a new job in November and receives his first paycheck on November 28. He needs to report the earnings to DTA by December 10th. Edward does not have a gross income limit and do not need to tell us about changes other than the 2 listed above.
