Instacart, the popular grocery delivery service, began introducing new payment options for SNAP EBT beneficiaries in December. Participating retailers include Aldi, Food Lion, and Publix, along with some smaller chains. Instacart has pledged to expand the EBT online payment option to more states and retailers in the near future.
When ordering with EBT on Instacart, customers must use a credit or debit card for non-eligible costs, including delivery and service fees, taxes, tips, and bottle deposit fees in some states. Customers over 60 who may be new to online grocery shopping can take advantage of Instacartâs Senior Support Service, which offers help with everything from setting up an account to placing an order.
Through Sept. 16, shoppers paying for Instacart orders with EBT SNAP at select retailers can get free delivery or pickup on their first three orders of $35 or more.

PEOPLE who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program have more options when it comes to using the monthly benefits.
The money still needs to be spent on food, but participants arenât limited to visiting a participating store in-person. Shopping for food online is now available.
Long before the pandemic, online grocery shopping has been around for years.
But for the longest time, Americans who are eligible for food stamps, now known as SNAP benefits, werenât able to use online services.
In 2017, the US Department of Agriculture , which oversees SNAP, launched a pilot program for people to order and pay for groceries online.
It has since expanded to almost every state in the US.
Amazon and Walmart were among the original retailers taking part in pilot program.
Currently, a business which accepts an EBT card needs to be approved and authorized by the USDA to take part in the online program.

Does Amazon Fresh Take Ebt
takes an EBT card from any state participating in the USDAs EBT pilot program. Amazon is among the online retailers that have partnered with the government to allow SNAP EBT payments on SNAP-eligible items in select states. Only items sold and shipped by Amazon.com or Amazon Fresh are eligible for EBT purchases.
Once your EBT card is added as a payment method on your Amazon account, you receive free access to Amazon Fresh and free shipping on orders above $35 on Amazon Pantry. However, youll be subjected to a delivery fee if you choose to have your orders delivered under the local free 2-hour delivery threshold.

SNAP recipients in Indiana may use their Hoosier Works EBT cards to purchase groceries online for pickup or delivery at two approved retailers Amazon and Walmart.

As more Americans have sought food assistance amid the pandemic, more states and stores have started letting consumers use their benefits when ordering groceries online for pickup or delivery.
Participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as SNAP, can pay in store at most major grocery chains including specialty grocery stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joes using electronic benefits transfer cards. But, until last year, EBT wasnt a widely available payment option online. Now, through the expedited expansion of an online purchasing pilot program run by the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food and Nutrition Service, households receiving SNAP benefits in 47 states and the District of Columbia can use EBT to pay for grocery pickup and/or delivery from select retailers .
The list of participating states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Does Walmart Accept Ebt Online
So, does Walmart accept EBT cash online? The short answer is yes. Walmart accepts both EBT Food and EBT Cash for online transactions in 44 U.S. states.The only states in which you cannot use your EBT benefits at Walmarts online store are Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Louisiana, Manie, and Montana. Residents in Arkansas, Alaska, Louisiana, Maine, and Montana may use their EBT benefits card in-store at checkout. Hawaii does not have any Walmart stores on its islands.

Does Target Accept Ebt Online Delivery
Target has over 1,900 store locations throughout all 50 states and the district of Columbia, all of which accept EBT cards for in-store purchases. If you live in one of the states participating in the USDAs online purchase pilot program, you can use your EBT card to shop online at participating target locations.
However, you wont be able to make EBT payments online. To complete the payment, you must swipe your EBT card at the time of delivery, and youll be subjected to a minimum order of $30 for home delivery.
You can only use your EBT card to shop for SNAP-eligible items. You cant pay the delivery fee with your SNAP benefits. Since grocery delivery is considered a luxury, youll need to use an alternative payment method like cash or credit card to pay for the delivery fee.
Other payment methods accepted at Target include Target RedCard, third-party credit cards like Visa, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Target Pcard, credit cards from foreign banks, third-party debit cards bearing Visa or Mastercard logo, Target GiftCards, Discover and Visa gift cards, activated AMEX gift cards, personal checks, cash, PayPal, among others. How To Use Florida Ebt Online At Walmart

If you have a Florida EBT Card, you will now be able to use your cards to buy groceries and select curbside pick-up.

Step 1 Go to the Walmart Grocery website
The first step to purchasing groceries online at Walmart is to go to the Walmart Grocery website at www.grocery.walmart.com.
Step 2 Find Walmart Store Near You
Next, enter your zip code to find the Walmart store location near you. This is the location you will pick-up your online grocery order from.
Step 3 Shop for Groceries Online
Once you have selected your Walmart location, begin shopping for grocery items online by adding EBT eligible items to your shopping cart.
You will be asked to sign in to your Walmart Account or Create an Account once you place an item in your shopping cart.
Step 4 Checkout and Choose Delivery Option
Once you sign into Walmart, you can continue shopping until you have selected all the grocery items you want.
Next, click the Check out button. There is a $30 minimum for Walmart online grocery shopping. You will not be able to proceed to checkout until you reach this limit.
Once you hit the check out button, you will be taken to a page where you can Reserve a time for pickup.
Now its time to checkout and pick-up your order.

Do you want groceries delivered to your doorsteps? Shipt is an excellent grocery delivery service owned by Target that will deliver your groceries and household essentials for free on orders above $35. For smaller orders, youll have to pay a $7 delivery and shopping fee.
Can you use EBT with Shipt?
Unfortunately, you cant use EBT with Shipt, mainly due to the current USDA restrictions. Remember that Shipt is only a delivery service and doesnt own the items it delivers. Shipt accepts EBT for stores that accept it as an online payment method.
Shipt partners with stores like Costco, Lowes Foods, Target, Winn Dixie, Meijer, HEB, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Piggly Wiggly, and LIDL. Most of these retailers and grocery stores dont include EBT as an online payment method.
But USDA is making some changes to SNAP through a pilot program aimed at enabling SNAP beneficiaries to shop for groceries online with their EBT cards.
More delivery services and grocery stores continue to join the program. Hopefully, Shipt will start accepting EBT in the future. In the meantime, consider Fresh Direct, Amazon Fresh, and Instacart for online grocery shopping and delivery.
