You must call 1 997-9333 or go to www.ebtEdge.com. You will need your P-EBT letter from DES which will inform you how to set your PIN. This could arrive before or after the card arrives and both will be sent to the address on file with your local school.
You are responsible for your EBT Card, Personal Identification Number , and the use of your benefits. KEEP YOUR PIN PRIVATE! It is recommended that you update your PIN monthly. If your Cash Assistance or Nutrition Assistance account is accessed and used with your card or your EBT alternative holder card, the benefits will not be replaced. Benefits will not be considered for replacement until after they have been reported lost or stolen and will be limited to benefits remaining in your Electronic Benefit Transfer account as of the date of the report. What Should I Do If My Ebt Card Or Pin Is Lost Or Stolen Or I See Unauthorized Charges
Contact customer service right away if your EBT card or PIN is lost or stolen or if you see unauthorized charges. The federal law that protects against unauthorized charges and errors on most government benefit cards does not protect these needs-tested cards. You should call right away to protect your remaining benefits.
If you have an Electronic Benefit Transfer card for needs-tested benefits provided or administrated by a state or local government, you do not have guaranteed protections under Federal law against loss or theft of your card or funds. Such benefits include Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, previously called food stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families , and Women, Infant and Children benefits. The first replacement card in a calendar year is free. You are charged $5 for each additional replacement card. When you or your EBT alternate cardholder requests 3 or more replacement EBT cards within a 12-month period, you will be issued a replacement card, but you may not be able to use it until you make contact to explain the reason for the replacement EBT card request.

If I Forget To Use My Ebt Card Does My Case Close Or Will I Lose Benefits
You do not need to use your SNAP benefits every month to qualify. Your SNAP benefits do not expire at the end of each month. If your SNAP case is closed for some reason, you still have the right to use any remaining benefits in your EBT account before the case closed.
DTA may contact you if your SNAP balance seems too high or you have not used your EBT card for a long time. DTA does track SNAP cases where the EBT benefits have not been used for a number of months. Some households, especially those who get the $23 minimum benefit, often save up SNAP for a big shop. Thats okay! Sometimes the SNAP EBT balances are high if DTA made an error and issued you a retroactive payment or you won an appeal. You are not required to spend retroactive payments right away!
However, DTA will remove EBT benefits from your account if you have not used your benefits at all for 274 consecutive days. 106 C.M.R. § 364.900. DTA must send you a letter 30 days before they take any action to remove benefits. Once expunged, you cannot get those benefits back.
Getting help to use your EBT card
If the reason you have not used your EBT card is because you lost your EBT card or forgot your PIN, you can get a new card or PIN. See Question 91. A high EBT balance or idle EBT account is not a sign of fraud!

Does Freshdirect Take Ebt
Fresh Direct takes EBT. Its one of the grocery stores participating in testing USDAs pilot program allowing customers to purchase fresh food and groceries in select states.
Customers can only use their EBT cards to purchase SNAP-eligible products on Fresh Direct and have their order shipped home. The shopper must swipe their SNAP EBT card at the time of delivery to complete their purchase.
EBT customers shopping online on Fresh Direct are required to place a minimum order of $30. Currently, the EBT program is only available for deliveries to Bronx zip codes 10454 and 10455 at no delivery fee, tax, or surcharge.
Fresh Direct also delivers in six northwest states, including New York, Washington DC, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Delaware, but the delivery cost and other surcharges must be paid out of pocket with alternative payment methods.
Other payment methods accepted at Fresh Direct include Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards, debit cards bearing Visa or MasterCard logo, PayPal, and checks.
