Now, the convenience of paying for Instacart orders with your EBT card only extends so far, since there are eligible retailers you must buy your food from.
Among the list of participating retailers for Instacart are Food Lion, ALDI, Save Mart, Price Chopper, FoodMaxx, Market 32, Lucky Supermarkets, and Market Bistro.
Is It Easy To Check Out With Your Ebt Card
Yes. As long as you are in the US and your EBT card is valid, you will be able to use it to pay for online orders.
This payment can be either full or even in part from the grocery stores participating in the pilot program I mentioned above.
This will include purchases from Publix, Aldi, and Food Lion.
When you want to check out, you will only need to visit your cart and then tap the checkout button that should be green in color.
From there, you will be required to add your delivery address in addition to your payment information.
It will be the time to enter your debit or credit card information. Again, you will not leave out the address as indicated.
You will then proceed to enter your EBT card information.
If you wish to change or edit the amount, click Edit, and your adjustments will apply to your EBT card.
After this, click Confirm payment method and proceed to the place order page, where you will need to confirm the correctness of all information entered.
After this, you can then click place order. You will be requested to enter your EBT card pin for purchase verification.
Immediately, you will see a breakdown of all the charges that will be meted upon you on the Place Order page.
This page will be clear about what you will pay for with the EBT card and what you will pay for with your debit or credit card.
As I insinuated earlier, anything that is not covered by your EBT SNAP will be charged to your debit or credit card.
Can You Order Groceries Online With An Ebt Card
Yes, you can order groceries online with an EBT card from participating stores in select states. The USDA has been running several pilot programs aimed at enabling SNAP recipients to purchase groceries online. About 47 states participate in this program and will be adding SNAP EBT as an online payment option.
Currently, only a few grocery stores are participating in the pilot program in select states. The number of participating stores is expected to expand going forward as these SNAP changes continue to take root.
So far, you can order groceries online with an EBT card from grocery stores like Aldi, Fresh Direct, Amazon Fresh, Publix, Walmart, and Target.

Lucky Supermarkets Save Mart And Foodmaxx
If you live in California, you may want to look into using your EBT card at Lucky Supermarkets chains such as Save Mart and FoodMaxx. Youre able to order groceries on Instacart using your EBT balance within the state of California.
However, California is currently the only state that will accept EBT at these stores using Instacart. Make sure that if youre ordering from these stores in a different state, youre aware that youll be charged via regular debit or credit card.
Is It Worth Using Ebt On Instacart
Whether or not using EBT on Instacart is worth it depends on your personal situation. Remember, you still have to pay for the delivery fee and any tip out of your own pocket when using Instacart.
That said, it can be very useful to use Instacart for groceries if you do not have transportation to the grocery store. This can be particularly useful for the elderly or those without vehicles.
Its also a lot easier to shop with EBT on Instacart than going to the store because you can filter items by EBT eligibility. There is no need to worry about getting to the register only to realize that a food item you purchased is not SNAP eligible.
All things considered, its worth it to use your EBT on Instacart if you can afford the delivery fee and do not have transportation to the grocery store. It just makes things so much easier than having to plan out a trip to the grocery store.

Which Grocery Stores Accept Snap Ebt For Online Orders
Americans who qualify for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits have no shortage of food stores to choose from. Most major grocery chains accept SNAP payments using an electronic benefits transfer card, as do specialty grocers such as Trader Joes and big-box chains like Walmart and Target.

Now you also have a much wider list of online options, thanks to an expanded online purchasing pilot program run by the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food and Nutrition Service. Today, 48 states and the District of Columbia let you use your EBT card to pay for online orders, according to the USDA. As of March 2022, Alaska and Montana are the only states that have not enrolled in the pilot.
The Cheapism website lists more than 70 retailers that accept EBT cards for online orders, including grocery chains, e-retailers like Amazon and online delivery platforms like Instacart.
Heres a look at some of the grocery stores and other retailers that accept SNAP EBT cards for online orders. Keep in mind that certain individual locations might not participate in the online EBT program even if the chain does, so check with your local store. For chains that operate in multiple states, only states where stores participate are listed.
Shopping For Ebt Snap

If you dont see EBT SNAP as an option for your local participating store, make sure you have the latest version of the Instacart app. If you still cant see EBT SNAP, check back often as we continue to expand to more stores.

You can allow EBT SNAP-eligible items to display when you shop. To enable this setting
When searching for items you can add a filter by tapping Explore > EBT Eligibility and selecting Only EBT-eligible items to see only EBT-eligible items.
If you are browsing items from the Store Homepage, tap or click on a specific item to see if it is EBT SNAP eligible. If it is eligible, it will say EBT above the price of the item.
You can confirm which items are EBT SNAP-eligible in your cart before checking out. It will say EBT under the name of each item that qualifies.

In addition, many retailers are restricted by the states that permit customers to make purchases using EBT SNAP to make purchases.
The supermarkets that offer the greatest coverage include Aldi, Publix, and Food Lion, but even these stores do not cover every state, or every single location within a state eligible for coverage.
Can I Buy Food Online With Ebt
Online grocery shopping has taken off in the last few years.
Until recently, this time-saving option has not been available to folks that use EBT/SNAP benefits to purchase their groceries.
Fortunately, the United States Department of Agriculture , the federal agency that oversees the SNAP program launched the EBT Online Purchasing Pilot. This pilot program allows states to add online purchasing as an option for EBT cardholders.
Amazon and Walmart accept EBT payment online from just about every state.
However, there are some rules when it comes to paying with EBT online. You can only purchase EBT eligible items. You cant pay delivery fees, tips, or other associated charges with SNAP benefits. Those extra charges will have to be paid for with a different form of payment.
Unfortunately, Instacart recently joined the program, but currently only accept it at Aldi in select states.

How Do You Manage Refunds When There Are Multiple Payment Types Used To Pay For My Order
If youre not happy with any item, you may request a refund. If SNAP EBT is used as a payment type, well follow guidelines from the USDA on how to process SNAP eligible refunds. If your item to be refunded is SNAP eligible and you used SNAP to pay for your order, we will refund the payment back to SNAP. When all SNAP funds have been refunded, we will refund the remaining payment types used in the order. For non-SNAP eligible refunds, we will process refunds according to the EBT Cash and/or other payment card amounts you used to pay for your order.

Does Costco Do Ebt Delivery
Costco has nearly 558 warehouses in the United States. Per Costco customer service, all Costco locations accept EBT cards for in-store purchases at the register and the self-checkout.
Unfortunately, Costco doesnt do EBT delivery. That means you cant use your EBT card to order groceries online on Costco.com.
You can use other payment options accepted at Costco warehouses and the Costco website, including Visa cards, debit and ATM cards, cash, checks, and Costco Cash cards.
Does Sams Club Take Ebt
There are over 600 Sams Club locations in the US, all of which accept SNAP EBT cards for in-club purchases. You must be a warehouse member to use SNAP benefits at Sams Club.
Sams Club doesnt take EBT for online purchases. You cant use your SNAP benefits to pay for purchases on SamsClub.com for home delivery or pickup orders.

While EBT card payment is an acceptable way to pay for your Instacart pickup and delivery orders, you should be aware of the criteria you and your order must meet in order to use this method.
Firstly, your first three eligible orders must include at least $35 worth of products to avoid delivery fees. You need to make sure your cart includes EBT-eligible products.
