The Rhode Island Department of Human Services is pleased to share a prominent Rhode Island retailer is now accepting EBT card payments for online orders.
Stop & Shop is joining the growing list of Online Purchasing Program participants, which allows families to purchase groceries online using their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, which are federally funded and state administered through our Department.
The Online Purchasing Program was implemented by the federal Department of Agricultures Food and Nutrition Service during the pandemic as a way to help vulnerable families stay safe while buying essential groceries.
This community retailer joins Aldis, Amazon, BJs Wholesale Club and Walmart in accepting EBT payments online. Taxes, fees, and related driver tips cannot be deducted from EBT balances.

To enroll in the GO Rewards program, you must have a Stop and Shop card. Each time you shop, you earn 1 GO Reward point per dollar you spend. You can only have one EBT card connected to your account at a time, so youll have to delete one card to add another.
1. Tap or click Account.
2. Tap or click Your account settings.

5. Select the EBT card you want to delete.
6. If on your browser, click the three dots and then Delete. App users, tap the pencil icon. Tap Delete and then Save.

How Do I Check Out With My Snap Ebt/ebt Cash Card
In the payments section of the checkout page, enter your SNAP EBT card information and click Apply Payment. Choose the SNAP and/or EBT Cash amount youd like to use. If the total amount for SNAP-eligible items is higher than your SNAP balance amount, or to pay for any non-SNAP eligible items, you can use another form of payment to cover the difference.

How To Add An Ebt Card To Your Instacart Account
1. Open your Instacart app or visit the Instacart website.
2. On the app, tap the three lines in the upper left corner. On the website, click the downward-facing arrow beside Hi, and click Your Account in the dropdown.
3. On the app, tap Your account settings.
4. On the website, once youre on your account page, scroll down and click Payment methods. On the app, tap Payment methods after youve selected Your account settings.
5. Tap or click Add next to EBT SNAP card.
6. Enter your name and EBT card number.

Dont worry if your card is damaged and you cant insert it into the card reader you can still use it!
In this case, the cashier will manually enter your card information. However, you must still enter the four-digit PIN.

Yes, non-SNAP eligible items can be included in your Pickup order, but must be paid for separately with your personal debit card, credit card, or EBT cash card when youre picking up your order. We regret that at this time gift cards or cash cannot be accepted in combination with your SNAP EBT card and/or EBT cash card for payment.

What Happens If An Item Is Out Of Stock Or Missing From My Order

Stop & Shop on Thursday became the latest Ahold Delhaize USA supermarket chain to allow customers using SNAP benefits the option to pay with an EBT card when placing online orders for pickup and delivery.
Earlier this year, Ahold chains The Giant Company, Giant Food, Hannaford and Food Lion also began accepting EBT payments online for SNAP recipients.

For Stop & Shop, the new service applies for all families and individuals paying with SNAP funds across the grocers five-state footprint including more than 400 stores in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, as well as for customers receiving delivery in New Hampshire.
