What Is The Louisiana Ebt Phone Number

Video 9: How to Apply to P-EBT (English)

In this community resource guide, I will share the Louisiana EBT phone number with you.

The EBT phone number offers a helpline to dial for assistance related to your food stamp benefits. This number will differ from the generic Louisiana Health and Human Services number you may have originally dialed to apply for food stamps.

Continue reading, and I will explain which number you should dial to connect with a Louisiana EBT customer service representative.

Is There An Online Application For School Year 20212022 P

There is no online P-EBT application for school year 20212022 P-EBT like there was for school year 20202021 P-EBT. You might need to complete a NSLP household application, provided by your school, for your child to be eligible. Refer to the question, “How does my child become eligible for the National School Lunch Program for the 20212022 school year?”

My Child Is Eligible But Hasn’t Received Benefits What Can I Do

A review of your benefits can be requested between August 15 and October 14. To request a review, call the P-EBT Call Center at 833-442-1255, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central time.

After your request is submitted, HHS will review the benefit decision and contact your child’s school for more information. The review process can take two to five weeks to complete.

If the review determines that your child was eligible for more school year P-EBT benefits than they received, those benefits will be issued to your Lone Star Card or P-EBT Card.

Requests for review of a benefit decision can only be submitted once per household, and all review decisions are final.

  • You do NOT need to apply for P-EBT. Your childs school will confirm their eligibility and learning situation.
  • P-EBT benefits will be issued on Louisiana Purchase EBT cards. Each eligible child will have a separate P-EBT card issued in their name, mailed to the address provided by their school.
  • If your child received P-EBT for the 2020-21 school year: The benefits for this year will be issued on the same card.
  • If your child is eligible but did not receive P-EBT for the 2020-21 school year: A new card will be issued in the student’s name.
  • If you receive SNAP: P-EBT benefits will be issued on a separate card in each eligible childs name, not on your regular SNAP EBT card.
  • Local STUDENT ID or Activation Number Needed: The childs Local Student ID or activation number will be needed in place of their Social Security Number to activate the P-EBT card. Tips for where the Local Student ID might be located can be found here. Parents who do not have their childs Local Student ID or activation number should contact their childs school.
  • KEEP YOUR CARD: All P-EBT benefits for each eligible child for the 2021-22 school year, and any potential future benefits, will be issued on the same card.
  • P-EBT benefits will be issued in installments between April and May.

    When Will I Receive My Child’s P

P-EBT benefits will begin being issued in April for the first semester and in July for the second semester . Children may receive benefits for one or both semesters based on their eligibility, however, children from some schools may receive all their benefits in July. Food Benefits For Students Whose School Attendance Was Affected By Covid

School Pandemic EBT is a program that provides benefits for families to buy food if their children were unable to get free or reduced price meals at school because they were absent for COVID-19-related reasons or were learning at home during the 2021-2022 school year. Getting these benefits has no effect on immigration status.

Heres how the program has been working for the 20212022 school year:

    • School districts have been reporting to DHS which of their students are enrolled to receive free or reduced price meals at their schools.
    • School districts have also been reporting the number of days those students were absent for COVID-related reasons or learned from home during the 2021-2022 school year.
    • Once DHS received all the information needed to find out a child was eligible, we have been sending benefits to their family on the next scheduled date for benefits to go out.
    • After we send the benefits, we have also been sending each family a letter in the mail that explained how much they got, for which children, and for what months.

Families receive $7.10 for each P-EBT Eligible Day that is reported for an eligible child. The amount is added to a QUEST or P-EBT card roughly every five weeks, according to the benefits release schedule.

Is Your Child Part Of The Free Or Reduced Price Meal Program At Their School

UPDATE: Deadline Extended for Families To Apply for Pandemic EBT

To be eligible for School P-EBT, your childs qualification for free or reduced price meals must be on record with their school district and the state, and their school must participate in the USDAs National School Lunch Program.

    • Your child is potentially eligible for School P-EBT benefits starting the date they were determined to be eligible for free or reduced price meals by their school.
    • Applications for free or reduced price meals are submitted through your childs school. Please contact your childs school for an application if they are not already enrolled.
    • If your child attends a Community Eligibility Provision school where all meals are provided for free, you do not need to apply.
  • Note: Most students have access to free school meals this school year. This does NOT mean all students qualify for School P-EBT. School P-EBT relies on a student being eligible for free and reduced meals through the National School Lunch Program, not their ability to get free meals from the school.
  • To check if your childs school participates in the National School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, check this list of participating schools . If your childs school is not on the list, please contact the school with questions. Students who attend certain fully virtual educational institutions are not eligible for P-EBT benefits.
