Anoka County is now accepting a variety of paperwork at three county locations and only vehicle tab renewals at two others. The locations accepting paperwork including vehicle tab renewals, property tax documents, child support and economic assistance applications, and reporting forms are:

Paperwork that CANNOT be accepted at drop boxes are documents related to legal service, litigation, or court matters. If your child support, economic assistance , or property tax paperwork involves a petition or claim to the Anoka County Attorney, those documents MUST be served on the County Attorney. Please see your child support/EA paperwork for service by mail directions regarding legal proceedings. Questions about legal documents can be directed to the County Attorneys Office: 763-324-5550.

How Do I Apply For Minnesota Snap Ebt

There are two ways you can apply for Minnesota SNAP EBT:

Option 1 You can apply online

To do so, visit ApplyMN.dhs.mn.gov.

Option 2 Fill out a Paper Application

You can use the Combined Application Form for families and people under age 60 to apply for SNAP benefits.

If you are 60 years or older, you should apply using the one-page Senior SNAP Application .

Once you have completed your application, you can Mail or bring the completed form to your local county or tribal office .

If you qualify for expedited processing, you could get benefits within five working days of your application.

For the 2021 2022 school year, students will be eligible for P-EBT benefits if:

  • The school they attend participates in the National School Lunch Program or the Seamless Summer Option and
  • The student has applied for and is eligible for free or reduced-price school meals.

AND, one or both of the following:

  • Their school closed or shifted to remote learning or has reduced hours of attendance for five consecutive days to a COVID impact.
  • Their parent tells the school they are keeping their child home because of COVID, and the school accepts the absence as COVID-related.

What Is Food Stamps Overpayment

A food stamps overpayment is when your states food stamps agency pays you benefits that you were not eligible for.

You will still have to repay an overpayment, even if the state food stamps agency is at fault or because you accidentally overlooked some information.

You may need to pay back the full amount of the overpayment.

However, if you still get food stamps, the overpayment will be deducted from your future benefits.

In addition, if you intentionally lied about important information in the application process, you could be disqualified from getting food stamps.

You will also have to pay back any overpayment.

If you are no longer on SNAP, then you will have to pay back the overpayment in another way. For example, cash, or your tax return, or another payment plan.

How Do I Access My Snap Benefits

Once your benefits have been approved you will be issued an electronic benefit card . The card will be mailed to you. You can access your benefits at any store that accepts EBT cards. The card can only be used for food purchases. It is always good practice to call and find out the balance of your benefits before going to the store.

If I Am Eligible When Will I Receive Benefits

The first round of benefits was issued in late December to a small number of families whose children attend schools where the entire school closed or shifted to remote learning for at least five consecutive days in September, October, or November.

Future rounds of P-EBT benefits will include families whose children have to stay home because of quarantine for individual students, groups of students, or entire classrooms. The first round of these payments should be issued onto P-EBT cards in February.

What Does A Covid Impact Mean

There are two ways an absence can be because of a COVID impact:

  • Any absence where the school tells students to stay home for a COVID-19 related reason.
  • This would include a school-ordered quarantine of a student, a group of students, a classroom, or an entire school.
  • Any Absence reported by the parent that school officials accept as COVID-19 related and enter into the states P-EBT Portal.
