The California Department of Social Services was recently approved by the United States Department of Agriculture to start a pilot program to allow food stamps to be used online.
As a result, CDSS has launched the program statewide, allowing food stamps benefits to be used online at Walmart and Amazon for delivery and pick-up.
This was done to reduce the risk of SNAP EBT cardholders from getting the Coronavirus by reducing grocery store visits.

To be able to use your CalFresh EBT card to shop online at Walmart, you first need to sign into your Walmart pickup & delivery account.
Visit the Walmart SNAP website here.
If you do not have a Walmart online account, you can create one.
Once you have signed in, Select Payment Methods.
If your local store accepts EBT Online, youll see an option to add your EBT card to your account.

Walmart’s across Louisiana will now accept Louisiana EBT cards as online payments. Online purchases will ensure that families have access to fresh produce and a variety of groceries options.
Walmart is the first retailer to receive approval through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition service to allow online purchasing in Louisiana’s form of food stamps. one resident sees this as a plus for many Louisianans.
“I think it’s a good idea. Most people don’t have cars. They walk everywhere, and they can’t afford gas. You know gas is expensive. They should order online to get their groceries”, says one Lafayette resident.
“I feel like that is something that maybe should have happened closer to when the pandemic actually hit”, says Noah Hall.

“Especially now with the pandemic, I see a lot of people walking on the road or whatever in wheelchairs and crutches. I know accessibility is a huge issue in Lafayette”, added Hall.

1. Add an EBT SNAP card to your account.
Under Payment Information, enter your EBT card number. There are no order minimums once youâve added an EBT card and applied the appropriate SNAP funds. Add your payment information during checkout if this is your first purchase with us.

How To Buy Amazon Groceries Online With California Ebt Card
Amazon has been approved for the California Online Purchasing Pilot and has launched delivery for EBT Cardholders. Cardholders in California can use their EBT to shop and purchase groceries online for delivery.
You cannot use your EBT funds to pay for Amazon grocery delivery. However, if you buy $25 or more in groceries, there is no delivery charge.
