How Is The Monthly Issuance Date For Basic Food Assistance Units Determined
Basic Food monthly issuance dates are staggered over the first 20 days of the month.
- Application with Date of Request between the first and the 15th of the month.
- If the application is finalized between the first and the 15th of the month, the issuance date is staggered between the first through the 10th.

What Cant You Buy With Ebt
Food stamps are designed to pay for well, food. This means that you cant buy any non-food items with your EBT card. While some unapproved items are obviously not suitable to buy with food stamps, this also includes essential non-food items, like household supplies and hygiene products.
Heres what you cant buy with EBT:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Diapers and other baby supplies
- Medicine, vitamins, and supplements
- Hot, preprepared food and drinks

Most stores allow customers to make multiple payments on one load of shopping. This means that you can use your EBT card to pay for your food items and use your own method of payment to pay for the non-food grocery items.

How Do I Check My Ebt Card Balance Online
If you have an EBT card, you can check your balance online, by phone, or by visiting your states EBT website.
To check your balance online, youll need to create an account on your states EBT website. Once youve logged in, youll be able to see your current balance and transactions.
To check your balance by phone, call the customer service number on the back of your EBT card. Youll need to enter your 16-digit card number and then follow the prompts to hear your balance.

When Do Benefits Expire
DTA benefits roll over month to month.
- Cash benefits not used for 90 days or more expire and are removed from your EBT card.
- SNAP benefits will not be removed from your card if you use your benefits any time within 274 days.
- If you don’t use any SNAP benefits for 274 days, benefits that are 274 days old or older will be removed from your EBT card.
- DTA will send you a notice 30 days before any benefits may be expunged from your card.
Request A Replacement Card

You can also request a replacement EBT card via the mail by using:
