Louisiana Ebt Cards Can Now Be Used To Buy Groceries Online
NEW ORLEANS Louisiana families who rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, formerly known as Food Stamps, can now order groceries online at Walmart stores throughout the state.
While Walmart is the first retailer to be approved for the online purchasing program, the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services says it expects other retailers to be quickly added.
DCFS said residents can shop and pay for eligible foods online using their EBT cards and can arrange for delivery if available in their area. Delivery services must be paid with a separate payment method because SNAP benefits can not be used for delivery fees and other charges.
With this program, families who shop for groceries with EBT cards will now have access to many of the same conveniences and features weve come to take for granted, said Marketa Garner, Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services Secretary. For some of our recipients, shopping remotely could be life-changing. Many have limited transportation. Some have health concerns that make it safer to shop online.

You can pay for Walmart online grocery with EBT in all but five states. These states are Arkansas, Alaska, Louisiana, Maine, and Montana.
You cant pay for your groceries online in these states, but you can purchase groceries online and pay with your EBT card when you pick up your order at the store.
Dont have a Walmart near you? No worries. SNAP participants can now use their benefits online through the Department of Agricultures Food and Nutrition Service online purchasing pilot.

Snap Tanf Clients Can Now Make Purchases Online At Walmartcom
Department of Public Health and Human Services Director Adam Meier announced today that Montanans eligible for food and cash assistance can now make purchases online through Walmart.com as part of a federal nationwide initiative to increase access.
We are excited to be able to offer this convenient method of shopping to Montana families, Meier said. While Walmart is our initial launch, we will work on expanding this program with additional online retailers in the future.
Thousands of households receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families using their electronic benefit transfer cards to purchase eligible items at businesses across the state.
The SNAP Online Purchasing Program first launched in 2019 in the State of New York as part of an eight-state pilot program. It is now available nationwide.
Meier said individuals will need to create an online account at Walmart.com and register their EBT card by entering it into their account settings. Individuals can begin using their EBT card for purchases 24 hours after registration, with no minimum purchase necessary. Walmart is the first retailer to provide SNAP online in Montana.

If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, immediately call the Georgia EBT Card Customer Service phone number at 1-888-421-3281.

According to DCFS, at the start of 2022, nearly 420 thousand Louisiana households, or nearly 860 thousand individuals, benefitted from SNAP. That number was markedly last year, while the country was still gripped by the pandemic and as hurricanes in south Louisiana displaced thousands of people.
